Terms of service

1. The Service

Parse finds US phone numbers and ZIP codes on web pages and shows local time, greetings and weather. Paste stores encrypted messages and files behind links. Pea Contacts stores an encrypted address book. Weather and some location data come from third-party sources, and we don’t guarantee that they are complete, current or always available.

2. Accounts

You need a Pea account for Paste and Contacts, and you may use one with Parse. Give us an accurate email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for activity on your account. Your Contacts vault passphrase and recovery code are yours alone, and if you lose both we can’t recover your contacts.

3. Free use and limits

The Service is free for normal use. Parse includes 250 weather lookups a day without an account and 1,000 a day with a free account. Paste has a daily creation limit and file size limits. We may change these limits, and we may throttle use that looks automated or abusive.

4. Paid plans

If you buy a paid plan, the price and billing period are shown before you pay, and Stripe handles the payment. Subscriptions renew until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and we don’t give prorated refunds for partial periods unless the law requires it. License keys are personal and may not be shared or resold.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

use the Service for anything illegal, including fraud, harassment, spam or distributing malware,
use Paste to share content you don’t have the right to share, or content that exploits children,
call our APIs outside our own apps and extensions, or try to get around rate limits or device limits,
reverse engineer, overload or probe the Service, except for good-faith security research reported to us under our contact page,
resell the Service or present it as your own.

6. Your content

You keep all rights to what you store in Paste and Contacts. Because it is encrypted on your device, we can’t review it, and you are responsible for it. We may delete a paste or suspend an account when we receive a credible report that it breaks these terms.

7. Calling rules

Parse shows the local time for the area where a number was assigned, which may not be where the person is. You are solely responsible for following the TCPA, the Do Not Call rules, state telemarketing laws and any other rules that apply to your calls and messages. Nothing in the Service or on pea.dev is legal advice.

8. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Time zones, area code data and weather can be wrong.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Karebin LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or 50 US dollars.

10. Ending use

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for a breach of these terms, and we’ll give notice where we reasonably can. Sections 6 through 11 continue to apply after your use ends.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida.

12. Changes

We may update these terms as the Service changes. If a change is material, we’ll tell account holders by email or in the product before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms. Questions go to hello@pea.dev.
