Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 8, 2026
Pea Labs, Inc. ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Pea studio, including our website (pea.dev), the Parse Chrome extension, and our web applications. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information across our ecosystem.
We build our tools with a core principle: privacy isn't a setting, it's the architecture. Because our tools are designed for sales professionals and operate on top of sensitive CRMs, we engineer our software to ensure maximum data privacy and compliance by default.
1. Information We Collect via the Parse Extension
We only collect the absolute minimum amount of data necessary to provide our services.
A. Local Page Scanning (No Data Leaves Your Browser)
To function, Parse requests permission to read the text on the web pages you visit.
The extension scans the page locally for area codes, phone numbers, and ZIP codes to calculate the correct timezone.
Zero Payload: This scanning happens entirely offline within your browser using local databases. We do not transmit, log, or store any names, phone numbers, emails, CRM data, or personal information from the websites you browse.
B. External API Requests (Live Weather & Features)
If you have features like "Live Weather" enabled, the extension must contact our external edge servers to fetch the data.
When this happens, the following specific data points are sent to our secure servers:
- Your License Key: To verify your active account status.
- An Anonymous Device ID: A randomly generated string created by your browser to lock your license to your specific hardware and enforce usage limits.
- Geographic Query: The specific state abbreviation (e.g., "FL") or ZIP code needed to fetch the weather. We never send full phone numbers or lead data to our API.
C. Local Browser Storage
Parse uses your browser's native storage to save your personal preferences. This includes:
- Theme settings (Dark/Light mode).
- UI preferences (e.g., 24-hour time, emoji visibility).
- Feature toggles (e.g., enabling/disabling ZIP code scanning).
- Domain blocklists (websites where you have disabled the extension).
This data is stored locally on your machine. We do not have access to this data.
2. Pea.dev Accounts & Billing
When you create an account on app.pea.dev for a Pro or Team plan, we collect necessary account data:
- Email Address: Used strictly for account authentication, password resets, and sending critical updates regarding your subscription or license keys.
- Billing Information: Payments are processed securely via our payment partner, Stripe. We do not store or have direct access to your full credit card numbers.
We do not sell this data, and we do not use your email to send you unsolicited marketing spam.
3. Website Analytics and Cookies
While the Parse Chrome extension operates locally and does not contain trackers, our website (pea.dev) uses Google Analytics.
- Data Usage: We use aggregated data solely to analyze website traffic, improve our website's functionality, and understand how visitors find us.
- Opt-Out: You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies in your browser or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or browsing data to third parties. As noted above, while we use website analytics, we do not use any third-party analytics trackers or advertising pixels within the Chrome extension itself.
5. Data Retention
Server Data: License validation checks and API request logs on our edge servers are transient and used strictly for rate-limiting and abuse prevention.
Account Data: We retain your account email and basic billing history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, this data is removed.
6. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. API communications between our tools and our validation servers are encrypted via HTTPS.
Furthermore, our extension architecture strictly isolates injected CSS and JavaScript to prevent cross-site scripting conflicts within your CRM or inbox.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as we ship new tools or adjust our services. If significant changes occur, we will notify users via extension updates, account emails, or our website changelog.
