Why this tool exists.

If you reach out to people across the US, whether you're calling, texting, scheduling, or routing freight, you've probably had this moment: you're about to send a message, and you stop. Wait, what time is it for them right now? Then you alt-tab to a timezone site, type a city, get the answer, and lose your train of thought. This tool kills that 5-second tax. Paste an area code, ZIP, or state and the answer is on screen before you can blink.

Built for the people who do this a hundred times a day.

Outbound sales reps & SDRs

Calling cold lists across timezones means knowing whether 11 AM your time is 6 PM theirs. The TCPA requires calls between 8 AM and 9 PM their local time, get this wrong and you're not just rude, you're non-compliant.

Schedulers & coordinators

Booking interviews, demos, or appointments across the country? Bulk lookup tells you in seconds which slots actually work for everyone, without spreadsheet gymnastics.

Logistics & freight

Dispatchers and freight forwarders coordinate pickups, drop-offs, and check-ins across multiple zones. The bulk weather column doubles as a quick weather-delay check.

Recruiters

You can't keep candidates waiting because you forgot they're 3 hours behind you. Drop their phone or ZIP into bulk mode and never miss a window again.

Customer success & support

Calling a customer at 7 AM their time isn't "proactive." It's annoying. Sort your call list by current local hour and prioritize who's actually available.

Anyone with friends or family elsewhere

Quick check before you call mom on the West Coast. No need to install anything for this one.

How the lookup works.

Area Code → Timezone

Every US area code maps to a primary state and timezone. Pea uses an offline database of all NANP area codes including overlays like 728/561, so single lookups are instant.

ZIP → Timezone

ZIP codes are more precise than area codes. For split-timezone states like Florida, Indiana, and Idaho, ZIP lookups resolve to the actual local zone, not just the state default.

State → Timezone

State lookups return the dominant timezone, with a clear warning when a state spans multiple zones. For exact resolution in those cases, use ZIP or area code instead.

Live weather

Every lookup pulls the current temperature and conditions. Knowing it's 95°F in Phoenix or pouring in Seattle is the easiest opener you'll ever script.

Bulk + CSV export

Paste up to 100 entries at once. Hit Copy as CSV and drop it straight into Sheets, Excel, or your CRM. Useful for prepping a call block in 10 seconds.

Privacy-respecting

We don't store your inputs. Identifying digits are stripped client-side, only the area code or ZIP itself ever reaches our edge worker, and even that's cached, not logged.

Frequently asked questions.

How do I find the timezone of a US area code?
Type the 3-digit area code into the input above (or paste a full phone number, Pea extracts the area code automatically). The result shows the timezone, current local time, and weather for that area. For example, 561 is Eastern Time (Palm Beach, Florida); 415 is Pacific Time (San Francisco).
Can I look up multiple phone numbers or ZIP codes at once?
Yes. Click Bulk Lookup at the top of the tool and paste up to 100 entries, one per line, or comma/space separated. Auto-detect mode handles a mix of phone numbers, ZIPs, and state codes in the same paste. Results appear in a sortable table with a Copy as CSV button for spreadsheets.
Is this lookup tool really free?
Yes. Manual lookups are unlimited. Live weather data has a daily allowance for anonymous users (more than enough for normal use); if you hit the cap, the timezone result still shows and you'll see a "weather limit reached" notice. Pea Pro at $4.99/mo removes weather limits and adds automatic scanning inside your CRM and Gmail.
What timezone is area code 561 in?
Area code 561 covers Palm Beach County, Florida (West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach) and is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT). The 728 overlay code, added in 2023, serves the same area.
What timezone is ZIP code 90210 in?
ZIP 90210 is Beverly Hills, California, Pacific Time (PST/PDT). All California ZIPs are Pacific Time.
Why does Florida show as a split timezone?
Florida (and 12 other US states) spans more than one timezone. About 85% of Florida is Eastern Time; the western panhandle is Central Time. Other split states include Indiana, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas. For exact resolution in any of these, use a ZIP code or area code lookup instead of the state.
What time can I legally cold call by state?
The federal TCPA limits telemarketing calls to between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM in the recipient's local time. Several states have additional restrictions, for example, some prohibit Sunday calls or have tighter windows. Knowing the recipient's local time (not yours) is the whole point of this tool.
Does this work inside Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, or Gmail?
The web tool above is for one-off and bulk lookups. The Parse Chrome extension is what you want for inside-the-CRM use, it scans every page for phone numbers and ZIPs and inlines the time and weather automatically. Works in Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft, Gmail, Google Sheets, and any other web-based tool you use.
Where does the data come from?
Area code and ZIP-to-timezone mappings come from public NANP and USPS data baked into Pea's edge worker. Weather is from WeatherAPI. We don't pull from third-party telecom databases or scrape carrier info, Pea's job is timezone context, not lead enrichment.
Is my paste data sent anywhere?
Phone numbers and ZIPs you enter are processed at our Cloudflare edge worker for the timezone/weather lookup, then discarded, they're not logged or stored. The Parse Chrome extension goes further and strips identifying digits client-side so they never leave your browser.

Stop alt-tabbing to look up timezones.

Parse runs inside every page you already use, Salesforce, HubSpot, Gmail, your CRM. Add it once, never look this up manually again.
